A Few Tips for a Successful Darklord Day

- This year’s event requires a ticket for entry. There will be no admittance for non ticket holders. The Munster Police Dept. will be out to enforce traffic flow and loitering. If you do not have a ticket, hopefully you can make it next year instead.
- Attendees must be 21 years of age or older.
- Pets will not be permitted to this year’s event.
- If you wish to bring beer for trading and sampling with friends we encourage you to do so within reason. A few bottles here and there are permissible. Please do not bring cases and kegs. You will not be admitted with excessive beer.
- Parking will be up to the attendees. Our little brewery does not have the facilities to accommodate vehicles.
- If you are bringing a vehicle please assign a designated driver.
- If you are planning to bring a bus or RV they must be kept out of our industrial park to allow emergency vehicles access (police order).
- The weather is normally unpredictable. It may be rainy or sunny so be prepared.
- Please do not bring anything to sell. Vending will not be permitted.
- Please hang on to your tickets. You’ll be glad you did.
- The Event is cash only as always. There will be ATMs on site.
- If you wish to bring lawn chairs try not to bring the couch version. Space is at a premium. Also please be mindful of traffic flow when deciding where to hang out.
- No Grills will be allowed.
- Most of all please be respectful of our town and our neighbors. We want to continue to hold a safe and fun event in the years to come and we can only do it with your help.

Thanks for WAKING ME UP at 2:52 am on a Tuesday morning to hear about a how to attend an event I can’t attend even though I was into the site at 2:02pm the day of the Golden Ticket sales. Next time take my advice and use Amazon and keep your tweeting to business hours.

  2. SaDiZTiKStyLeZ says:

Rent a park for next years darklord day…

  3. Nick says:

What will be the bottle limit per person?

  4. Mark says:

Is re-entry permitted providedd you have your ticket?

  5. Jamie says:

Will attendees be able to pick up their beer, take it back to their cars (hotel room etc..), and then re-enter with their ticket?

  6. Mike says:

    No Grills?

Gotta say, this is a big, big bummer here. Our group is coming with 3 different timeslots between us and the idea was to bbq like we have before during the day.

Will we have in and out privileges? Can I leave the property and come back in?

  7. Burd says:

“- Parking will be up to the attendees. Our little brewery does not have the facilities to accommodate vehicles.”

Does this mean finding parking outside of the industrial park? I know previous years have seen issues with the lots owned by the other companies in the park. Last year there was a very helpful parking map. Will any parking recommendations be made by either 3 Floyds or the Town of Munster itself?

  8. Brandon says:

Will we be allowed to stay at the event for longer than the designated time slot? Or will everyone from group A be asked to leave the premises prior to group B’s time slot?

  9. Ian says:

Will a growler be considered “excessive beer”?

  10. Lincoln says:

1 Growler will not. A case of growlers will.

  11. Lincoln says:

You will be able to leave so you can put your beer in your car. Loitering in the industrial park will not be allowed by the police. We’re just trying to be good neighbors in our community.

  12. Lincoln says:

As always, the bottle limit will be announced on the day of the event.

  13. Lincoln says:

You will be able to stick around and enjoy the bands and what not. The time slots are for purchasing Darklord.

  14. Andrew says:

I think you should charge an extra dollar per bottle next year and get a private facility with lots of parking and tailgating space. My hunch is that this is from community complaints, probably from some of the businesses that are not even open. Which is a shame because you created a great event celebrating craft beer. Now it feels more like we are just going to buy beer. I feel like Lando after he made the deal with Vader in Empire Strikes Back.

  15. drew says:

Diane, familiar with the term QQ?

  16. Eric says:

What time do the gates open? Regardless of group, we can enter the grounds at any time, correct? Are there any rules about bringing a small lawn canopy?

    Thanks!

  17. Tree Hate Me says:

Jesus. 3F’s next project should be to create a WHINELORD beer because whatever they do it brings the most annoying people out of the woodwork.

Diane: “Thanks for WAKING ME UP at 2:52 am on a Tuesday morning…”

So now it’s 3F’s fault that YOU have YOUR Twitter feed set up to alert you when they send something out? How about you change your settings?

Lincoln & crew, I don’t know how you do it. Let me be a contrarian here and thank you for all the hard work you guys put in for DLD. Please know that some of us out there appreciate what you do in trying to please the masses.

  18. Jeff says:

Thanks for the continuing attention to improvements and communication. Can’t wait!!!

“…keep your tweeting to business hours.” Good to know you just discovered the interwebs, Diane. FYI: them interwebs are also open Sundays.

  19. Jeni says:

At first when I read “no grills” I thought it said “no girls”. Being a girl, I think I had a slight heart attack :)

  20. MillerBeachRat says:

    17 Days and counting

  21. veggeku says:

What will be the designated “excessive” amount of beer? (6 bottles, 12 bottles). Excessive is quite relative depending on who is setting the standard. I understand that you don’t want people bringing 4+ cases of MGD or some garbage. I would just like to bring a good amount of quality craft beer to share with people, like it always has embraced. It would be a damn shame to ruin that aspect of DL day…other than DL itself, it’s what makes this festival so great.

  22. Dan says:

I agree Three floyds has done a terrific job every year. I wanted to know if a cooler of beer is too much, say 12-18 beers? From 12oz to bombers.

P.S. Really glad I won’t have to hear Diane complaining in line on DLD.

  23. Bakker says:

    - There will be no admittance for non ticket holders- This really stinks for me and a lot of other people. I have lived in Munster for 35 years, have followed a promoted you since first sip of Alpha King in 1995, I am a share holder and have attended every Dark Lord Day, and now I am not invited. I am no computer genius which has made me unable to get Dark Lord for the past few years, but at least I was able to attend the event and enjoy your other beers, and maybe even get a sample of the Dark Lord.
I was one the guys that would come and hang out in the warehouse almost every Saturday, and hang out with Nick and the guys, share my White Castles or whatever food I brought, and drink for almost free. I’ll never forget paring the Rabbid Rabbit with my wife’s banana bread, and how much Nick enjoyed it. Then came the token system, which was fare. Now I go to the brewpub on a Saturday, only to be turned away for occupancy limits.
You need to find a way to enable some of us core members to be able to enjoy Three Floyds again. My one suggestion would be to somehow allow your share holders access to the prized golden tickets before internet sales begin. I’m not able to attend Dark Lord Day this year, but some computer hacker from Canada is.
I don’t want to be all complaints though, you guys still make the best beer by far. Keep up the great brews, and I will keep trying to get my hands on it any way I can.

do you have posted the Realm of Dark Lord. admission with ticket.
it that going to be just on the 3F property or to the industrial park as a whole.
maybe i missed it. not that I’ll be there. but friends of mine will be there.
sure hope the Dl is better this year than it has been the past few years.

  30. Scott says:

What time will we be allowed to start lining up to get into DLD? Or what time are we allowed to show up?

  31. Sean says:

Someone already asked this but I didn’t see an answer. Will we be allowed to bring lawn canopies?

  32. Lincoln says:

Unfortunately, there is not enough space for lawn canopies.
